Of Mice And Men Poem by Sara Militello

Of Mice And Men

Of Mice And Men

To nature's expanding flank,
the tired mob bows with nary a nod
but wearing the blank gaze
and awkward yoke
of morbidly oppressed folk
not even a wry comment could faze.

Thus, in the stillborn reason
unfolding in its own unique warp
and delivering the eternal chords
of the managed existence
imagined only by aberrant minds
in hushed groupings,
is the mindset exalted most often
by those who betray reason in all its forms~
even while singing its praises...
