Of Rains And Ruins

Rating: 5.0

She sat on the window sill

Till the light was stolen

The dark sky looming above

Knew no respite

From morn to eve

She wept and wept

Tears flooding the earth

No trace of father

Did the little girl discern

There she slept all by herself

Mother’s cajoling words

To no avail...

The rain today stole

A naughty child’s soul

Wile the Yamuna swerved

From her comely course

*Thnx to Ranjit for the lead by posing the lines

'The rain today stole/A naughty child’s soul' and saying, let's see if u can...and later giving it the title...
