Of Singles Poem by Edward Dzonze

Of Singles

One after another
she took them off
and throw them down nonchalantly
in my full gaze.
Tearfully she looked at me quizically
and i did just the same.

We looked at each other
with some reservations,
smiled and embraced
while shedding a tear.
Set alight the memoirs of our former marriages
before taking our vows.
