Of Those Times Poem by Timmy Tubbs

Of Those Times

She smiles and her cheek squints her eye
She places a blade of grass between her gaze and the sun
She lines it up perfectly
And lowers one brow in wondrousness
The shadow sways on her bright face
I splash some sand over my feet and shake my head to myself
What is she doing?
Confused, I chuckle and place my eyes with hers
Her gaze is still set on her bent grass
“What? ”
“Nothing.” I say smiling in confusion
My eyebrows rise in simplicity
“Just looking at you. Is that a crime? ”
“No.” a sarcastic stare aborts my confusion
“Do you ever wonder, ......never mind.” She ends
I laugh inside and out
“Get out of here you weirdo.”
I toss sand at her feet
“Hey! ”
