Oh Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

Oh

That’s my world right there, she pointed
Which galaxy have you come from?
Not very far, he said
it’s probably just right next to yours.

He arrived on a giant burger rocket
painted in stripes of red and blue,
on the side there was a kind panda
who offered the jolliest snacks.

The night was pleasant and simple;
twinkling stars were in sing-song
they did not wonder or linger
on a thought of what they were.

In her world,
the heavy rain entered the skies
bustling people trotted on ceilings
and the majestic ocean swayed on wings.

Oh, she giggles, Wait. I’m sorry,
We’re floating upside down. My world’s inverted.
The boy was startled and said in surprise
Oh. Your world is wrong.
