Oh, You Speak Such Good, Good Words - Poem by Reginald Goodridge

you speak such good
good words for soul
telephone chat
don't leave, don't go

stay a while, smile
i'll smile back, hi
we'll make up words
diction-less, try

i'll start with um
you'll finish up
misspelled, bla bla
thesaurus touch

outdated verbs
slurred slang soft surds
laughing non-sense
fluttering hers

diving his pen
deep in red ink
thinking over
hmn, what you think?

good words for soul
i won't let go
just smile at phone
