Oh...Canada (Redux) Poem by Kevin Patrick II

Oh...Canada (Redux)

Oh Canada...
Our home
on slaughtered native land
True hypocrisy
That all fathers command
With blood of children
We see thee raize
Our true North strong
For tyranny
From far and wide
Oh canada
We stand for rich men's
Killing sprees
Oh Canada we stand to kill the meek
Oh Canada we stand to cull the weak

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
While many of my country men celebrate this day of our country's founding. I feel a reminder must be made of my country's darker history. Of slaughter and colonization. Nationalism around the world is on the rise and while supporting one's country is nice, becoming blind to its adults anywhere, will inevitably lead people down alleys of hubris and folly. I still l9ve my country And prefer it over our neighbors but we need to do better.
