I wrote a poem with my soul's fire,
Now my back's striped with lashes.
Long ago, they said, only terrorists are detained.
Only their rights are ignored.
Now, my shirt is red and stained.
Next, they bellowed and roared,
Freedom must be slain,
For the sake of the masses.
