Old Barns And Such Poem by Marilyn Lott

Old Barns And Such

Did you ever stop and explore
Around an old barn and such
We just don’t take enough time
For we’re always in such a rush

Abandoned barns and homesteads
Are the perfect place to wander around
Oh, I’ve done it so many times
You’d be surprised at what I’ve found

In the tall dry grass ‘long side the barn
You’ll find old pieces of farm tools
They’re rusty and froze with time
Why I once found an old milking stool

I even find old wagon wheels
From well, who knows how long
They’ve been sitting there forever
The history is so strong

Old sheds with the doors fallen off
Briar bushes fill the space
Don’t you wonder about the stories
And what has taken place?

So next time that you travel
Take the time and stop along the way
Investigate old barns and homesteads
You’ll have such an exciting day!
