Old Is Gold Poem by Dr John Celes

Old Is Gold

Old-fashioned radios have all gone;
A few preserve them well;
The modern gadgets look gorgeous,
And youngsters love them swell!

The radio entertained us all;
The songs and news were free;
The joy within the hearts, it gave,
Remains ingrained surely.

‘Old is gold’, a saying tells;
It is not lie but truth;
The things of antiquity were
Like natural God-given tooth.

The world looks for the good of the past;
Never ridicule the aged;
Their wisdom, knowledge is so great;
They knew the world though caged!
Take the good things, the past offers;
With time, some old things resurface!
