Old Lizard
Old Lizard, you are a good lizard
You never come into my yard
You sit beside the garden trees
And stare at my gate, like I begged you to leave
Your skin in brittle, your limbs.are.nimble
I see how you walk like unto breath you cleave
Its the thaw of December and its awfully cold
you never come in to let the warm enfold
I see you shy away, i never saw you bold
They said when you were younger
into my yard You would wonder
Now you are old and now so wiser
You see my yard and sit by the gate
Waiting for age to take you under
