Old Map Old Man Poem by Clive Culverhouse

Old Map Old Man

Rating: 5.0

old map
old man…
there was a time
when roads, paths
were exciting and new
full of direction
vibrantly going places
travel was the world
exploration fireworks

age, tiring, fatigue
autumn eyes
now alone and creased
folded away, forgotten
old map
old man
wilting silverly
putting down his cup
he reaches for the map..

wrinkled
roads not travelled
regret is not a place
to linger after dark…
old map
old man
potential reviving
as a second wind
blows
