Old River Poem by Peter Lungile Chidothe

Old River

Its waters still fall and run deep
The sound taking me afar
Because this river down
Flows carrying my dream along

I have sang a thousand songs
Together with the tweeting birds
And wrote a million thoughts
On its waters
Together with the fishes

In it, I find the sky down
With overstretching shiny stars
And the never ending rainbows

When I lie on its bed
I sigh a new sense of life
The skies so blue
And the sun not so hot
