Old School Love... Poem by Bhoomi Mittal

Old School Love...

Walking through the snow-covered mountains,
Reminded me about us,
We used to walk together miles,
Hands in hands and our face covered with smiles,
The tree that we carved our name on,
Still has it as the ages got long...

What if you are not physically here,
I know we are mentally tied in the same knot;
I know it's been ages since you are waiting for me,
Just wait a little long...
I'm on my way towards Heaven's door,
I've always loved you till my heart's core...
We never felt our company to be a bore,
Our favorite pass time was making castles at the shore...

These young kids ask me what is 'love',
I proudly say that it's something that's between us...
I know you broke our promise, by leaving me early,
But you are busy there making arrangements for me dearly.
So as soon as I reach you,
I can be in your warm embrace,
I still miss the ways my cheeks were used to trace.
I love you till my core,
Even if we were torn,
By God who was busy setting us a new goal...

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem relishes the memory of someone who was once loved and is waiting to meet her love. She does not pray for her love to return but wishes to join him sooner. The mountains, shores, kids and everything remind her of her jovial days spent with her other half. It's about the patience and longing in one's eyes.
