Ole Kentuck Poem by Daniel Lyons

Ole Kentuck

I think of you so often ole Kentuck.
The dark and bloody ground.
Many fought and died to rule ole Kentuck.
The dark and bloody ground.
Land so fertile and clean, a seed can grow just by a throw.
The dark and bloody ground.
God's majestic and beauty work, on ole Kentuck.
The dark and bloody ground.
There, my secret can be found.
God sent a moonbeam.
And let me lay down to pleasant dreams in ole kentuck.
The dark and bloody ground.
Hell, hath no fury like the history in the bluegrass of ole Kentuck.
The dark and bloody ground.
I remember you ole Kentuck. You are the land of my forefathers and of my youth.
I adore you ole Kentuck.
The dark and bloody ground.
