Olivia Poem by Angela Wybrow

Olivia

Dame Olivia Newton-John:
Into our lives, your bright light shone.
You were unique; a beautiful pearl,
Who was adored by millions across the world.

You had a beautiful smile and a beautiful soul,
And, deep inside, a heart of pure gold.
You were brave and kind; a true inspiration,
Who touched folks hearts across many a nation.

You were caring, compassionate, feisty and fun,
Radiating warmth and energy, just like the Sun.
Your passion, positivity, gentleness and grace,
Helped make this world a much better place.

As Sir Cliff rightly said, you were 'gorgeous and gifted',
And, by your music and movies, many spirits were lifted;
For many people, you were a beacon of hope;
You put a smile on their faces and helped them cope.

Your amazing music melted many a heart,
And hit the heights of many a chart;
You showed that you were versatile,
And effortlessly tackled many a style.

In '78, ' Grease' hit the big screen,
And, of Rydell High, you were the Queen;
We all know that 'Grease' is the word,
And, for the very first time, some great songs were heard.

Darling Olivia, you may now be gone,
But your music and movies will still live on.
You're now at rest; free from pain,
And, another angel, Heaven has gained.
