Omega Poem by Alejandro Torres

Omega

Are you sure you love me
Or is it just the illusion
Of magnificence
That blinds your sight
From the truth
Justified reasoning was never enough
When I decided to give you my heart
I don’t mind you breaking it
With every smile
But competition would be a black mass
A crowd
Multitudes of people
With names and faces
We try not to remember
Half of our society
Wish I could dispel their lies
With a shake of my head
Every false justification
Of dirty reasoning
They give to you
With promises of love and happiness
But they don’t bleed
They don’t breathe
They tear apart the beauty
To paint over the pictures
Change eyes
Remove from sockets
Are you sure you can believe
What was never there in the first place
Or do you put trust
In a bottomless well
Like this bottomless heart
With the ability to love
Lifetimes over
To love the good and the bad
Of what makes every soul complete
Like you make me
