Omicron Poem by BASAB CHAUDHURI

Omicron

He asked me, 'How are you doing? '
Although I was not feeling too well,
I said, 'I am doing fine.'
He was smart and could sense,
I wasn't doing too well!
He said, 'Take care. Omicron! '
He walked away, fast, faster -
The speed was to tell the world -
He was not too unhappy!
The next promotion and in the competition, he was a little ahead.
None knew although he knew too well!
Next morning, he called and prayed for recovery,
Then he smiled before the mirror.
How little do we know about us?
How little do we see?
He admired his clean-shaven face,
And thought about the upcoming race.
He was a few steps ahead, already.
His ability and smartness, all too good,
Omicron did the rest.
