Ominous Perceiver Poem by sally ray

Ominous Perceiver

The young man stood in the Courthouse Hall
His back braced rigidly against the wall
He waited wearily for the ones inside
To decide whether he should live or die.
Oh if only he could erase
That night of his ominous disgrace.
When to a party he did go
Where the wine and liquor freely flowed.
Friends he loved therewere three
While driving reckless hit a tree
He survived but not the three.
'Oh dear God what have I done?
The pain of such a reckless night
Will stay forever in my life.
So whether they choose
I should live or die.
The punishment is that I survived! '
