On A Festive Day (October 17) Poem by BASAB CHAUDHURI

On A Festive Day (October 17)

Colour and smell -
Stories to tell
Back to the past
They don't last.
Memory fades
Yet sudden burst,
Laughter around
As if fresh start.
Where were you
So many days...?
Busy with work!
Yes, he plays.
Festive season -
Provide reason
Air, yes, air -
Yet compare.
I open up
I walk back,
Child at heart
Simple, no smart.
