On Choosing Shoes 3-3-10 Poem by Hal Caufield

On Choosing Shoes 3-3-10

I could write today about time.
Pen remorse of the road not taken.
I could pontificate on that
Great rough beast of fate,
Or sweet serendipity come at last.
I could author a novel on
Impertinent, indiscreet life’s choices.

But today I wish to write about her shoes.
Oh, I know how that must sound,
Simple and flamboyant with a touch
Of gay colors spread to the edge.
But that is not where I am bound.

She wore the gray shoes yesterday,
To match that most exquisite
Gray suit dress that accentuates
The beauties of her curves and
Longness of those flawless legs.
I stared at them intensely,
Marveling at how,
Because of the high heels
And round school shoe shape,
They match her charismatic
Charm of sexy innocence.
She chose those shoes carefully.
Matching perfectly
Her personality and that dress.
