On Earth Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

On Earth

Let there be a light
Creativity and delight
One must get what is due
In his share on this earth
Learning is a curve
As its future course
A different mindset.

Thinking beyond stars
Not a child's play-
Turning up side down
Taking very little space
For imagination-
It's not elite moment
Or all beyond their books.

Why aren't the people
Angry and demanding
When women get on earth
Raped, violated and sold
Beaten, pimped, hit and killed
In the womb-
Then, how do they get with it.

What they think, what they know
Or what they believe in the end
Is of very little consequence
The only consequence left
Left is that what they do.

Sharing, eventful life story
With such absurdity
And philosophical wit
So much so to be learnt-
From none else but, own self
Avid learners of rectitude
Going back to times on earth.
