On My Lane I Race Poem by Levi Oguike

On My Lane I Race

On my Lane I Race
No competitor
No anxiety
No one to beat
And none to overtake
No one overtakes me
My pace I maintain
My speed
Only pushed by wind
No ambition to win
 No fear to lose
The prize my own
To keep
No applause
No tape to breast
A race of pleasure
Taken gracefully
I'lI finish well
Am the umpire
In this race
No chance to lose
Am strictly on my own
Don't wink at me
Just your business
Please mind
And let me myself be.
