On My Terms Poem by Jose' Antonio Orellana Artolozaga

On My Terms

Rating: 5.0

On my terms—
For some unknown reason
The wires continue to
Get crossed,
Rub against each other,
Arc in sparks.
The circuit overloads,
Too many thoughts
On the same
Circuit continue to
Trip out the main
Brain breaker but no
Matter what goes on,
I like watching
You washing dishes
After dinner and
The way you bend each knee,
Well-formed hips to
What’s playing on the radio.
I know you sense me
Near and the way you accentuate
Each emphatic flex,
grind and roll
Beneath summery skirt,
Starched just so
Rustling apron, like
Leafs shifting swiftly in a
Mid-July breeze
