On The Evening Of My Life Poem by Yehualashet Teshome

On The Evening Of My Life

I stand
At the station
On the evening of my life
Waiting for the train
To take me home
To heaven
Lingering, fading memories
Of love and suffering
Joy and shame
Flushing in my mind
Millions of unanswered questions
But mission accomplished
Free at last
