On The Importance Of Passion Poem by L MILTON HANKINS

On The Importance Of Passion

Passion drives the vehicle of success,
And all that is great in the world depends
[Said Georg Friedrich Hegel and me, I guess]
On which direction the supple mind bends.
One thing poets count on as sure as time
Is that resolve to see the poem done
Devotion to the word inside the rhyme
Revise! another vexing phrase to come.
Each stress brings rising to my heaving chest
When fine expressions find a place within
I read the piece and know it's not my best
But I've not the passion to start again.
