On This Side Of Life Poem by Sanu Sharma

On This Side Of Life

Rating: 5.0

The rain drenches not my heart
spring ignites not my desires
and in the name of love
these days
no longer any furor does stir within.

No wound inflicts pain
no one's memory causes torment
life has made me cry a lot
now, perhaps
even in someone's demise
tears drip not from my eyes.

Dreams flutter no longer
imaginations empathize no more.

Your memory alone, once
filled my heart with delight,
but now, even in the presence of you
my soul would not sense
the thrill of living,
but a deep apathy.
