On Your Shoulder (Sonnet #102) Poem by Tina Baaklini

On Your Shoulder (Sonnet #102)

On your shoulder I lay my head, my burdens
Your tenderness embraces me and my mess
I bury the past, I carry its lessons
I move ahead with you, my love and bliss

You taught me that the flame of love dims not
That the power of love moves mountains
You taught me to live and rely upon God
Praying hearts are quenched from His fountains

You're a wonderful friend before a lover
You pamper my heart and tender my soul
The purity from the world you gather
And spread in my heart scented dews of joy

I pledge my life to our love so divine
O soulmate, I still can't believe you're mine
