On Your Way Poem by Paul Reed

On Your Way

You are far ahead
In the distance
Just a pin-prick
On the horizon
You have left me far behind
Even just in play;

Once, I carried you
And made believe
I couldn't catch you
In our races
But that was yesterday
This is today;

Now I can only watch
As the long path between us
Unwinds and stretches
It is good to know
As I see you go
That I set you on your way.
