Once Poem by Barbara Talman

Once

Once I was a young woman
stomach pulled taunt against a being
to be so loved.
Smile crossed faces viewed fertility
a promise.
It fit and felt right.

Not forgotten, now mourned,
a membership revoked
by years gone by.
