Once A Girl Poem by Padmavathi Rambhakta

Once A Girl

There was once a girl
Very happy and gay
She sang with the birds
She counted the stars
She spoke with the flowers
She danced like a peacock
She collected colours from the rainbow
She knit many colourful dreams
And her dreams always touched the sky
And she enjoyed each and every hour

One day a boy came to her
He sang lullabies to her
He brought sunshine to her
He gifted blossoms to her
He changed her whole sphere
He became her near and dear
She floated like a boat
In his wide river
Later his love towards her
Slowly Started to wither
He ran in search of some new butterflies
He started showing her his real colours
For the first time she tasted a tear
All her dreams vanished from her
She lost all her charm and identity
She is no more the original her
Now she is a broken dream
She is a lifeless stream
