Once Again - Poem by Donnie Wolff

When you want to wake up,

what does it take?

Do you, drink some coffee

but desire a stake?

When you want to sleep

what does it take?

Do you, count some sheep

with a McNyquil shake?

When you can't stop thinking of her

do you, call up another

as you begin to slur?

When you call out to God

answer me now!

Do you, get a busy signal

and try back tomorrow?

When you finally realize

this is the end

Do you, sit back and just pretend,

that someday you'll hold her once again?

Do you,

Do you do what I do?

Just so we are clear, by stake, i meant stake, like stake to the heart dracula shit suicide, someone kill me now please. I mean i just lost the love of my life, and certainly wasnt walking into denny's like hey yeah... Im heart broken, destroyed, i'll take a steak. I literally spent hours with a sharpie after this was published going through hundreds of books because my genius publishers thought i was hungry apparently. I gave up after a few hundred and a hand cramp. Anyway I still miss that girl Theresa, but on a brighter note i can eat steak again ;) (Report) Reply

Yes I know this is the end not for me but for him, as I see he wants to be free from my vantage point I can look beyond what lies behind all lies.....this is so much real romance no filth of lust. Completely spotless yearning for true love (Report) Reply

Yeah... This was my first serious heartbreak 2001-2002, And that above is what i did to try to forget her. Including the mcnyquil shake, which was actually a night time cold formula that i would drink just to sleep. And thank you again
