Once Again Poem by Dava Makiah

Once Again

it's happened
i was gone again
pigeonholed
in the distance that i had ran
pinned to the wall
held inside a devil's hand
not my soul
he can never attain
memories replaced by
action
replaced
by stillness
coupled with solitude
i'm about to become real honest
i think you might want to hold on
it's going to blow your mind
I fell in love with you
then i became
dead
something so simple
a tune i hear everyone hum
is that why my friend put a bullet in his head
is that
why
i found another lying in a bathtub covered
in blood
and you wonder why i'm scared to love
i won't be pigeonholed
with nowhere to run
