Once And For All Poem by Yiling Ding

Once And For All

Give me a cure
for unrequited love
A fix for this
sourness in my heart
bitterness in my mouth
oppressive feeling
A pressure against my chest
Surely I have the symptoms
of unrequited love

Give me the medicine
of forgetfulness
Wipe away the memory
of me loving him
Sweep it away into oblivion
Press the rest button
We'll be just like we were before

Just like we were before
I might fall all over again
My heart feels like
it's in an endless loop
Falling, forgetting, falling
Every time the wound heals
it opens up all over again
You keep repainting
the love I burnt away
with the acid of determination

Someone will come and
pull me away from all this madness
Someone will fill in this
you-shaped gap
And I will patiently wait
until that day comes
and I will be released from my love for you
once and for all.
