Once In A Life Time Poem by Troy Remillard

Once In A Life Time

Rating: 4.5

No more to search in dark,
no more to cry for Her.
The one true un-wavering star
Who's presence lit the eternal darkness in my heart.
Light year away for so long,
now just feet apart.
Days pasted, weeks pasted.
Standing in time,
Starring at Her perfection.
Finally the silence was broken
not by words,
by sight

Empty space around Her
Now full of light
She smiled.
My cold white skin
now radiant.
Realizing who I was looking at,
Her wings no longer hiding from my sight.
No longer in front of a girl,
now in front of Gods messenger.
The perfect Angel.
The look in Her eyes
told me she was mine
But He had different plans

The smile changed.
Face switched.
Slowly rising up
into the black abyss.
Only enough time for a goodbye
Hanging, hand-in-hand.
Wishing we were still
frozen in time.
No longer an option.
I stood here.
Screaming out with no voice.
Watching perfection leave.
What to say,
Good-bye?
Don’t leave?
I'll find you?
I love you.

Too late.
My light is gone.
Never to see Her again.
Now alone and broken.
My soul destroyed.
My heart black and cold.
I stand for Eternity,
Waiting for her.
