Once Upon A Time Poem by chris austin

Once Upon A Time

</></></>Once upon a time we fought the dragon
Once upon a time we were knights in faded denim - and
The dragon was big with orange eyes and stinking breath
We fought him with our swords of youth and shields of optimism
For awhile we had him on the run - as
We dreamed of our new Camelot - but
The dragon was clever and seduced many of our number - and
There are none so dangerous as your friends -
They know you
Your strategies and weakness
From this knowledge the dragon grew strong again -
The strongest spell the dragon cast - was
To make himself invisible
Soon his followers began to say - that
The dragon had gone away forever - that
We had nothing to fear
So concerned were they for our peace of mind - that
They provided new weapons for the ones we'd lost - but
The sword was made of compliance - and
The shield was a shield of sorrow - and
They both came free - with
Every purchase of a hamburger - and
The big sign reads
HAVE A NICE DAY
