Once Upon A Time I Fell In Love - Poem by .... Chetty

Once upon a time I gave my heart away
He stole the halo of my soul
I watched the stars fall from the skies, it burn my world so dry and cold
Once upon a time I gave my all for a dream that shimmer through my skin
He scared my heart, he left me bleeding
It really hurt me, my heart turned so cold

When everything has passed time takes its place
I had nothing left to give in my heart
Once upon a time has finished and gone
But the scares lingered upon my window eyes

Now the rain falls from the heaven
His hazel eyes waters my world to life
I stare through his soul and I fell so hard in love
I have no control over the power he placed over me
I know where I belong when he holds my hands
My heart shivers and I am so scared
Oh baby give me time
Baby give me time to love
Because once upon a time I gave my heart away
And I was cut to bleed

But now beautiful you come into my life
Please don't tell me I will have to wipe my blood again from the floor
Because you are stealing my heart
You are taking me somewhere beautiful
And I am scared of this feeling, because you making me happy

Once upon a time I gave my whole heart away
And he punched me through the heart
All the bruises still shows on my skin
Now I hold someone beautiful who gives life to my heart
My soul glimmer so bright right under his arm
Oh love you steal my heart
You give light to my heart
You never have to ask me if I care because you have taken all of me to heaven
