One For Each Shoulder Poem by Timmy Tubbs

One For Each Shoulder

I’m left fending demons
Fending a massive hangover of you
They still try to tell me what to do
I swiped them off
And placed an angel on each shoulder
Whispering the right into my ears
Telling me what I should have told her
But on dark nights I don’t listen
And time becomes the referee
Giving me another ten count because of you
I’m left honestly listening instead of talking
I’m left honestly loving you
