One in a billion
one in almost eight billion
and maybe that’s why I’ve never really liked statistics
it’s because they are just so depressing
they make you feel like you’re nothing.

And maybe you are nothing to the world,
maybe you are nothing to this almost eight billion people
but even if you are
you will mean the world to a couple
out of the world’s population.

And I’ve realized
that the truth in fact is
that most of the time
nothing does matter.

But wait
sit still
sit patient
and wait a little more
because until you find something
someone
that really does matter
don’t give up.

One in almost eight billion
but keep in mind that someday
you are going to mean the world to someone.
