One Last Kiss Poem by Nuno Vieira

One Last Kiss

Rating: 5.0

Time, getting away from my eager hand
Just like sand,
A bird, flying like a sweet sound of a mother’s
Voice in a smile,
There is a tree, somewhere
Firm, strong, old…
Like my eager hand, holding that bird.

Boxes opened at random,
Feared memories revealed at once
Dusty pictures that simply do not fit
Not any longer.
One life has gone,
Within a moment of silence,
Not a second more.

Just a big hole,
A deep, silent scream for peace.
A reward.

Do I have space left in my coffin
For one last kiss?
