One Love Poem by Wakefield Mahon

One Love

One love, one God, one heart, one soul
That is the story I tell
My fingers burn to tell the tale
Of my own personal Hell
Of all the things that I've endured
Of every ounce of pain
The anger and the savage love
All this so you may gain
The knowledge that you are not alone
The peace that you are loved
For though, it is true, I know you not
I hold your soul above
The stars in all of their splendor
The pleasant morning dew
For I have known the Love of God
And want to share it with you

Maybe, my words are written in vain
My voice may not be heard
My desire is for you to learn the truth
To acquaint you with the word
So this I offer to you and God
With humility, indeed
That this, my arrow, hits its mark
And that my words succeed
