One Of These Days Poem by Justin Gildow

One Of These Days

One of these days
I'll look forward to a time where the real world won't follow me
And the world of working will be far away from me
If at least for a little while

One of these days
I'll take a vacation to an island far away
I'll walk along the shore
Soaking in the sun's rays
And I'll sit under a palm tree
Sipping fruit punch while lying on a beach blanket
I'll take photos and buy souveniers of this vacation that I'll never forget

One of these days
I'l have a large collection of Renaissance Faire costumes
And I'll teach myself how to face paint
As well as applying glitter and eye shadow
I'll treat kids and adults to a wonderful experience
Making them fierce, loyal, pretty, beautiful, and dark
While adding my own creative mark

One of these days
Maybe, just maybe
I'll be able to do some or all of those things
Until then
I'll wait for my opportunity to ring

One of these days
