One Small Star Poem by Bonita Sasso Pistilli

One Small Star

When you look up at the dark of the night,
What do you see,
A vast stretch of blackness, millions of bright stars,
And if you look hard enough, Me.
For one of those stars a midst of the bright swirl
Though smaller than the rest may be;
Carries with it the wish of one particular girl,
What girl, Me.
Yes, upon this small star, on a night just like this is,
She looks up and wishes for who?
Someone she loves, someone she misses,
Someone. What someone? You!
