One Step Poem by Casey Jarrell

I take one step towards the door.
Then my wish will make me strong.
I will reach for my goal that I'm aiming for,
and I won't let go of your hand!
I won't let go of your hand!

The sun is the only thing I see floating in the cloudless blue sky.
As it lights my way, all my doubts seem to melt away.
The negative colors are fading away.
The sky is shining bright.
I'll be here in our new world
with all of my friends.

Now is the only time!

I take one step into the light.
Now I'll get a second chance.
Someday, I'll reach all of my dreams that I believe.
