One Summer Morning Poem by John McManus

One Summer Morning

A vision appeared to me
The sky was calm and clear
From the mountains to the sea.
A golden light from the heavens
Was shining upon a tree
There stood a young man
Who was smiling at me.
The morning sun was dim
To the light that surrounded him,
His face like the moon so fair
Eyes that showed a child-like stare.
Not believing blindly I did not see
The strange had a message for me:
Believe in me and you shall see
Al the glory in the heavens
From the garden of Eden,
To the land of our birth
A new heaven, a new earth,
"One summer morning."
