One Thousand Drums Poem by Emily Casbourn

One Thousand Drums

Rating: 5.0

If one thousand drums were beat upon
The world would surely hear
Let us show them we mean it
Let us bring fear
Let the tides rush in
Wave after wave
Until the town has fallen from grace
Driven by a wild intention
Hated by all confession
Drunk and unfit to carry on
May the world hear those drums
A war has raged and isn't won
The battle goes on
When will it end?
Does the suffering ever end?
When one child is shot
The hearts of others want to avenge them
One thousand foot steps
for every beat the drum makes
No longer at peace
Now at war
The sound of one thousand drums
Beating for the world to hear
