One Way Poem by Chris Quirk

I followed the path, I chose my destination,
I fell for you beyond my greatest expectations.
I offered my emotion and affection,
I wish for your security and protection.
I have sight of what I want learnt through maturity,
I can't help but be jealous it's my own insecurity.
I can't do anything more... Should have done less,
It's causing me pain, physical, emotional, mental stress.
I make an effort but that's a two way street,
I hope one day that both our paths will meet,
Instead of a dead end road down a one way street.
