Only For My Mom Poem by Okello Baloyi

Only For My Mom

Our time together in this world was very short, if I were to ask, why you left us like a passing storm, I wonder what your answer would be. I never thought I'd need a friend while you were around, because you were everything that was there for me!

It's funny how you believed in education but everything you taught me about life and value, weigh more than what the institution fed me! we shared many dreams together, which some of them I won't rest until I fulfil them.

I hope your pains, were whipped like waves, taking all the rubbish out of sea, since it was the only word, I couldn't go a day without hearing it, until your last breath kicked out. What would have become of me without your genuine love.
