Only Love Poem by Gianfranco Aurilio

Only Love

Have you ever loved
a young man's heart?
Love mine
which has the vehemence of a storm
when the snow is melting.
Have you ever loved
a young woman's heart?
Love mine
which has the sweetness of a fawn
that has barely learned how to crawl
and already wants to run.
Have you ever loved
the heart of a man?
Love mine
which has the strength of the wind
pushing the oceans
which gallop freely.
Have you ever loved
the heart of a woman?
Love mine
which has the sensitivity of a feather
that can dance
when the air whispers.
Love me,
I will love you
as only love can do.
