Only Our Love Poem by Heather Iverson

Only Our Love

The Earth
stopped spinning
my heart
stopped beating
all was quiet
no birds, rushing water, wind, or rain.
Day turned
not to night,
though stars I did see.
Brilliant colors spanned the horizon
as the heavens blushed.
All the world's treasures
my bounty, it seemed.
Nothing compares
to the sweetness
Of your breath,
The whisper
From your lips.
The sun and moon pale
To your radiance.
There is nothing more,
Save our love.
